Yesterday I posted about finding Nintendo NES Pirate Treasure and promised to take some pictures of my personal collection of Nintendo goodness.
Well moments ago I took the following pictures. I hope they bring you lots of happy childhood memories.
Here is a picture of the Nintendo 8-bit console system:

Of course I have the original grey Zapper light gun for games like Duck Hunt, Hogan’s Alley and Barker Bill’s Trick Shooting:

This is a photo of the original Nintendo controller. I have two of these but only took a picture of one of them:

Nintendo was really ahead of their time with the Power Pad. People didn’t get it back in 1985 but now with games like Dance Dance Revolution (DDR), it makes perfect sense.
Here is a picture of side A of the Power Pad which doesn’t seem to get used much:

Here is a picture of side B of the Power Pad which is really good for games like Eggsplode, Short Order and World Class Track Meet:

For those of you who didn’t like figuring out how to win a game or didn’t know the famous Konami code, there was the Game Genie to save the day.
As you can see, I also have the complete manual with every possible cheat code at the time of printing:

Here are four boxes I have filled with all sorts of Nintendo games. At the bottom of this post, I will list all of the game titles.
All of the games have the black dust covers and some still have instruction manuals:

What would a Nintendo post be without a picture of the classic Super Mario Bros. and Duck Hunt game up and ready to be played?

I do have the original AC power adapter and RF/TV connector too but I didn’t think a picture was needed of those.
For anyone wondering what games I have in those four boxes above, I’ve made a plain text file with a complete list in alphabetical order. Download it here.
I made you a cookie… but I eated it.

Yeah. I know. You’re saying “awwwww” right about now.
Merry Christmas and Happy holidays!
Bah Humbug to those who don’t celebrate the holiday season ![]()
The man is a legend. First Steve Wozniak was immortalized in Lego, now he has been cloned in cogs at Disney’s Epcot Center.
Seen here working on what looks like some kind of wooden Mac, the King of the Geeks presides over a messy garage workshop on the refurbished Spaceship Earth ride.
Alternatively, it could actually be Steve Jobs under that beard and hair. Who knows?
Maybe Disney opted to save money by combining both Steve Wozniak and Steve Jobs into an unholy Jobswiak Monster?
Someone who goes by the nickname “blueblythe” on the Craftster Community website thought it would be a good idea to sew a complete Nintendo gaming system:
You can click the above picture to see more up close and personal pictures of this embroidered plush Nintendo system.
Apparently Blythe Church hand dyed the felt, hand sewed it and embroidered all the details. It took her 2 full weeks to create this geektastic masterpiece.
The felt Nintendo system has an opening cover so that games can be put in and removed and she even made felt Mario 3 and Duck Hunt games:

Who knew that crafting people came up with such cool geeky stuff? I’ve seen some cool things before but this Nintendo system takes the cake.
Hat tip to Blythe Church for making some cool stuff out of felt.
Since I’ve now got Nintendo on the brain, it’s time to dig my Nintendo (NES) system out of the garage so I can play some Mario 3 and Duck Hunt.

Well Christmas is coming to a close and I figured why not do a Christmas 2006 wrap up post.
This is the first year we’re not with other family members and it’s actually ok with us… nice and relaxing without all the “family fun” and bah humbugs
In the picture, you can see I’m wearing my WordCamp 2006 shirt and yes before you comment, I know that I’m not smiling in the picture… I was barely awake and I’m sporting my Don King morning hair. At least I’m upright and have a shirt on.
Ok, on with the post… for gifts I received the following (not in any special order):
- Handmade scarf (gray in color)
- 2007 Ford Mustang wall calendar
- Tripod for my camera and video recorder
- Trivial Pursuit DVD Pop Culture Board Game
- RC car parts (tires, chrome rims, alignment tools, foam inserts)
- 2007 “Far Side” comic desk calendar
- Black & Decker Auto Wrench
- 2 shot glasses for my ever growing collection
- Duracell Pen Light (with batteries included)
- A wide variety of boxer shorts with fun messages on them
- Woppers candy
- Reeces Pieces candy
- $100.00 USD Visa gift card (w00t. time to buy some clothes)
- Lubriderm Daily Moisture Lotion (perfect for cold weather)
One of the shot glasses says “Hawaii” on it and the other one has a sexy girl posed on it. Hubba hubba.
A couple of the fun messages on the boxer shorts are:
“You shook me all night long” and “I’m smart but I work with nuts”.
Good times. I’m looking forward to wearing them around the house.
Around 1:00 PM we finally made some food for breakfast… ok, a late lunch… we made scrambled eggs with shredded cheese, an entire pound of bacon (I love bacon) and toast with butter and jelly.
All and all it’s been a pretty nice and relaxing low stress day. I plan on taking it easy over the next couple of days as well. I put in a ton of hours for work and personal projects, so now I’m taking some time for myself and my lady… and the dog too
I hope everyone is having a Merry Christmas and a happy holiday.
For those of you who don’t celebrate Christmas, I hope you’re having a good day as well.
